Our link with Little Leaps School
Last year Spa linked with Little Leaps, a special school for children with Autism in South Africa. Each term we have a week during which pupils at Spa and Little Leaps do a joint project and share their work and experiences.
We have also raised money to help Little Leaps School. In October we sent £1,108 to Little Leaps. This is money raised from different fundraising events last year including The Summer Fayre and tips from the School House Café. The Principal of Little Leaps wrote to us to say:
To Everyone at Spa School
Thanks a MILLION!!!
What beautiful timing, we’ve just built a new prefab classroom for next year’s Junior Primary Phase 3 class and we need to kit that class out with everything… I mean everything, it doesn’t even have a desk or pencil in that classroom at the minute. With your R19 243 contribution we have enough to really do that classroom justice.
This is so generous of you guys, from the bottom of my heart, my kids, their parents and my staff I want to THANK YOU SPA SCHOOL – these monies converted into Rands is massive!!! We plan to use these funds to kit out that Junior Primary Phase III prefab classroom out, we’ll need everything from staplers to chairs, from pencils to iPads, from desks to face clothes, we literally have to stock a new classroom from scratch so this really has come at the perfect time. We will be sure to send you photos of the classroom once we’ve “moved in” in January.
Lots of love and gratitude.
Our pupils have really enjoyed learning about life in South Africa from the pupils at Little Leaps.
